Formula
a : b ; total / (a + b) = one part
Rule
A ratio compares amounts. To share in a ratio, find one part then multiply.
Example
Share 40 in the ratio 2:3 -> 16 and 24.
Tip
Add the ratio numbers to get the number of parts.
