Use the past simple for completed actions in the past.

Regular verbs add -ed. Irregular verbs have their own form.

Structure: Subject + past verb.

When to use it: Finished actions at a specific time in the past.

• Irregular verbs: Learn common irregular past forms by heart. go → went · see → saw · buy → bought
